This Ramadan has seen the birthday of Shaykh Dr. Abdalqadir as-Sufi. He is now 77 years old.

His world extensive Da’wa has stretched from the North of Scotland to the southern tip of Africa. He has established Dallas College in Cape Town for Muslim students to acquire a degree, its subjects including Turkish, Urdu, Fiqh, Geo-Politics and IT. The now recognised best translations of Qur’anic meanings in English and Spanish are by two of his senior Murids.

Last year, at his Shahada Festival in Johannesburg, 100 South Africans entered Islam. He has inaugurated three mosques: Norwich Mosque in England, the Great Mosque of Granada, Spain, and the Jumu’a Mosque of Cape Town.

His Collected Discourses are expected to run to ten volumes. He has just published ‘The Book of Tawhid’ and his ‘The Book of Hübb’ is about to be released. Both Al-Muwatta and Ash-Shifa were translated under his editorial guidance.

Shaykh Dr. Abdalqadir as-Sufi now wants to return to his native Scotland – not to retire but to extend his Internet discourse with the Muslim world.
